Strengthening Aspire Play Our Way Program in Northern Territory

We are pleased to report that a series of workshops, meetings staff and partner engagement were completed 2-5 September 2025 in Darwin to strengthen Aspire Play Our Way in Northern Australia

What is Aspire Play Our Way

Play Our Way Program support to provide accessible, affordable, and inclusive opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (First Nations) women and girls as well as those living in remote areas of Australia the opportunity to engage in hockey and other sports. ACCL will provide a range of modified sports while incorporating Traditional Indigenous Games. The project will also see the inclusion of Deadly 5’s sports and Sport Leader Training and is designed to empower and promote the inclusion of women in remote areas into sports. Equipment will also be purchased. Activities will result in enduring change for women and girls facing barriers to participation in sport and physical activity, particularly those in priority populations who are First Nations peoples, reside in regional, rural and remote areas and/ or reside in a low socioeconomic area across Queensland and the Northern Territory
